Running

Donostia/San Sebastián is a city made for running. In addition to its countless walkways along the sea, the city boasts many pedestrian streets far from the noise of traffic, making it an ideal city to tour "on the run", an outstanding spot for runners who love to run outdoors. The most popular races in San Sebastián are the Behobia – San Sebastián and the San Sebastián- Marathon.

Cycling

The extensive network of bidegorris (bike paths) in Donostia/San Sebastián link the city from end to end and provide the perfect way for discovering it on bike. If cycling fan the Basque Country is the perfect setting, with spectacular scenery and epic Tour de France mountain passes just minutes away, paths along the coast for all levels and mountains where cyclists can test themselves against the purest form of the sport.

Trekking

The Basques' love for mountaineering and trekking is widely known. Despite being at sea level, Donostia/San Sebastián is part of the Camino de Santiago de la Costa (Coastal Way of St. James).

There are different routes departing from San Sebastián. A 5K run along the coast to Pasajes de San Pedro and another 15-20 km to Orio and Zarautz provide unbeatable views of San Sebastián. Monte Ulia also boasts countless trails for running.

Water-based activities: Donostia/San Sebastián is a city surrounded by the sea. Its three beaches (La Concha, Ondarreta and Zurriola) spot the city's 10 kilometers of coastline and are home to a full range of water-based sports like surfing, sailing, stand-up paddle and canoeing, perfect for experiencing passion for the water and the excitement of sports.
